Teller (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

About the role

Standard Bank Group is hiring a Teller for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Gobabis. The role handles cash and/or foreign exchange matters for walk-in customers and ATMs, assessing demand so that service meets client expectations and the bank's requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with walk-in customers to identify demand-generation opportunities and promote branch and non-branch channels, capturing and logging the related documentation and customer information.
• Follow duty-of-care requirements under branch operating procedures to minimise errors and operational losses.
• Analyse data and information to apply self-correcting actions and meet customer demand while mitigating risks and non-compliance.
• Manage, process and handle the control, movement, storage and collection of all cash assets in the branch in line with policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Banking or a related field at NQF 6 level.
• 3-4 years of experience, including branch banking and understanding of bank policies and procedures for telling, frontline support, foreign exchange, bulk cash and ATMs.
• Familiarity with the legal aspects of cash and forex handling.
• Knowledge of other departments and their functions within a branch.
