Foreign Exchange Control Team Leader

About the role

Standard Bank Group is hiring a Foreign Exchange Control Team Leader in Windhoek. The role ensures that payment transactions are validated accurately and on time through prescribed processes and procedures, which reduces operational risk, errors and rework.

Key responsibilities

• Execute payment due diligence within prescribed turnaround times, complying with Exchange Control rulings, regulatory requirements and internal policies, and engage stakeholders to keep transactions accurate and service standards high.
• Guide and support internal and external stakeholders so that service level agreements are met, quality service is delivered and strong relationships with customers and partners are maintained.
• Promote accuracy and quality by minimising processing errors, rework, human incidents and their financial impact.
• Coordinate and support internal control reviews, internal and external audits, Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) reviews, compliance reviews and regulatory inspections, providing accurate information, documentation and responses in time.
• Monitor and track audit, compliance and regulatory findings, ensuring action plans are implemented on schedule and risks are mitigated.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Finance or a related qualification.
• 3-4 years of experience in Exchange Control Rulings.
• Knowledge of Exchange Control Regulations and the applicable legislation.
• Broad understanding of Payments Operations and of the Bank's systems, processes and procedures.
• Ability to act as an active change agent and to help build and maintain a team culture.
