Senior Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engineer – Namibia

About the role

The client is developing a greenfield open‑pit gold mine in Namibia and requires a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EIC) Engineer to lead technical delivery across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead EIC engineering activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards and project specifications.
• Oversee HV/MV distribution, substations, switchgear, MCCs, process plant electrical systems, instrumentation, DCS, SCADA and automation.
• Manage utility interfaces, grid connections, renewable energy and BESS solutions, including emergency power.
• Support procurement, vendor management, FAT/SAT inspections and technical evaluations.
• Monitor construction, contractor performance, resolve technical issues and manage engineering changes.
• Coordinate interfaces across EPCM contractors, construction, commissioning and operations teams.
• Drive operational readiness, maintenance strategies, critical spares, training and documentation for handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and professional registration (or eligibility).
• Minimum 15 years of EIC engineering experience, at least 8 years in mining or heavy industry.
• Proven track record across full project lifecycle, including commissioning and operational handover of a major mining project.
• Experience working in Africa or remote environments, preferably Namibia or Southern Africa.
• Strong leadership, planning, communication and problem‑solving skills with a safety‑first mindset.
