Senior Electrical Engineer – Owner’s Team (Greenfield Gold Project)

About the role

The client seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Owner’s Team on a greenfield gold project in Namibia. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead electrical engineering activities through design, procurement, construction and commissioning, ensuring safe and compliant delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and review of electrical designs, specifications, calculations, load lists, single‑line diagrams, protection studies and cable schedules.
• Ensure designs meet the project design basis, Namibian legislation and international standards, focusing on constructability, operability, maintainability and safety‑in‑design.
• Review HV/MV/LV power distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VSDs, generators, UPS, earthing and lightning protection for process plant and infrastructure.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with process, mechanical, civil/structural and instrumentation/control disciplines and grid connection requirements.
• Support procurement by developing scopes, specifications, tender documents and participating in bid evaluations and vendor reviews.
• Oversee construction, site inspections, method statements, testing, defect close‑out and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university.
• Professional registration or eligibility (registration in Namibia advantageous).
• 15+ years of relevant experience in major mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial projects.
• Senior‑level experience within an Owner’s Team, EPC/EPCM or engineering consultancy across the full project lifecycle.
• Willingness to work in a remote site environment.
