Lecturer: Plant Breeding and Genetics

About the role

The University of Namibia is recruiting a full-time Lecturer in Plant Breeding and Genetics for its Ogongo Campus. The post combines teaching, research and supervision of undergraduate students, with an emphasis on crop improvement and plant genetics.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Plant Breeding, Plant Genetics, Quantitative Genetics and Plant Biotechnology.
• Carry out research, publish papers, develop and update the curriculum, and engage with the community, focusing on crop improvement and plant genetics.
• Supervise undergraduate student research projects and theses.
• Provide technical support and promote capacity building at departmental and Faculty level.
• Promote collaboration with local and international research institutions and partners.

Required profile

• A Master's degree in Plant Breeding and Genetics or a related field.
• Three years of teaching experience.
