Lecturer (Academic Literacy)

About the role

The University of Namibia is recruiting a full-time Lecturer in Academic Literacy for its Katima Mulilo campus. The post provides effective teaching of Academic Literacy modules to students across departments and faculties, and also involves research and community service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Academic Literacy modules effectively to students across departments and faculties
• Undertake and supervise research activities
• Provide relevant community service as required

Required profile

• Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, Language Education, English Studies, Education or a related field relevant to Academic Literacy
• At least three years of teaching experience, preferably in Academic Literacy, English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or a related field in higher education
• Evidence of research engagement and willingness to take part in community engagement on academic literacy and language development
• Ability to work collaboratively within an academic team
