(Junior) Financial Accountant – German Speaking

About the role

The company is looking for a (Junior) Financial Accountant who will handle documentation, analysis and presentation of financial data. The position can be performed remotely from South Africa or Namibia.

Key responsibilities

• Independent posting of all business transactions (accounts payable, receivable, assets, bank, credit cards, travel expenses) in DATEV (CDG and CTS).
• Carry out invoicing, dunning, and advance sales tax returns.
• Prepare and check payment runs, maintain master data and accounts.
• Participate in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB together with the external tax office and UK colleagues.
• Act as contact person for employees, customers, suppliers, auditors and authorities.
• Support weekly cash‑flow updates and contribute to cross‑department projects.

Required profile

• Completed commercial training with further qualifications in financial accounting or a technical university degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
• Relevant professional experience in the listed accounting areas is preferred.
• Good knowledge of German Commercial Code (HGB) and business‑fluent German language skills.
• Business‑fluent English language skills are desirable.
• High loyalty, teamwork orientation, responsibility and an independent, self‑reliant work style.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DATEV accounting software.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

What we offer

• Salary between R28 000 and R32 000 per month (invoice if based in Windhoek, self‑managed taxes).
