Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer (Pharmaceutical Sciences)

About the role

The University of Namibia (Hage Geingob Campus) is recruiting an Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The position is full time and academic, with a closing date of 13 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver core lectures in Physical Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Dosage Form Design, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, and Pharmaceutical Calculations
• Cover topics such as thermodynamic principles, drug physical properties, acid-base chemistry, solubility, buffers, biopharmaceutics, rheology, solutions, semisolids, transdermal/ocular/otic manufacturing methods and USP compounding
• Perform any other related duty assigned by the Head of Department

Required profile

• Associate Professor: at least a PhD with over 10 years of experience in the field; extensive teaching and leadership experience in curriculum development and program innovation; proven supervision of master's and PhD students, often as principal supervisor or promotor; a national and/or international research profile with a strong publication record and success in attracting external research funding, often leading a large research team; evidence of a successful grant application with PG students currently on the grant
• Senior Lecturer: at least a PhD with over 6 years of experience; demonstrated teaching excellence including curriculum development and innovative approaches; experience supervising postgraduate students (Honours, Masters and/or PhD); an established research profile with scholarly publications and independence in research; evidence of a successful grant application
