Senior Planner – Mining Project Scheduling

About the role

The Senior Planner will lead the development, integration, maintenance and control of the project schedule for a large‑scale mining project in Namibia. Working as a key member of the Owner's Team, you will ensure the schedule drives scope, priorities, critical path activities and delivery commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage the integrated master schedule across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Review contractor and consultant schedules for alignment with project milestones and logic.
• Monitor critical path activities, schedule performance and potential delays, providing mitigation recommendations.
• Facilitate planning, progress review and coordination meetings with project teams and stakeholders.
• Support procurement by reviewing tender schedules and long‑lead equipment delivery plans.
• Provide planning oversight during construction, identifying risks and supporting recovery plans.
• Prepare schedule updates, forecasting reports, critical path analyses and management reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of planning and scheduling experience in mining, minerals processing, infrastructure or heavy industrial projects.
• Proven experience within Owner's Team, EPC, EPCM or large‑scale construction environments.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (critical path analysis, scheduling, forecasting, progress measurement).
• Strong knowledge of project controls, earned value management, change control and contractor claims.
• Experience with schedule risk analysis.
