Resident Engineer for Road Construction

About the role

The Resident Engineer will act as the consultant’s on‑site representative, leading daily supervision and contract administration for a road construction project in Namibia.

Key responsibilities

• Administer site and camp operations, including supervision personnel, laboratory activities, traffic measures and environmental compliance.
• Review and verify design information, recommend amendments, and ensure integration of design intent with construction.
• Serve as primary liaison among head office, employer, contractor, subcontractors, authorities, utilities and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate, review and certify quantity measurements and payment certificates in line with the contract.
• Manage quality control, financial administration, issue instructions to the contractor and maintain documentation and record‑control systems.
• Measure, analyse and report on construction progress, programme adherence and OHS/environmental compliance.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng/BTech or equivalent in Civil Engineering with professional registration by the Engineering Council of Namibia.
• Minimum 10 years post‑graduation experience in civil engineering and construction supervision, including at least two national road projects as Resident Engineer.
• Proven experience in contract administration, quality management and stakeholder coordination.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
