Technical Specialist

About the role

The Technical Specialist provides independent professional engineering services on multidisciplinary road and civil infrastructure projects, supporting planning, design, delivery and close‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality engineering designs, drawings, models and technical solutions using Autodesk Civil 3D, CAD platforms and BIM workflows.
• Prepare clear technical reports and documentation, and review work of engineers and technicians.
• Supervise inspections of constructed works for compliance with designs, specifications and standards.
• Assist with project budgets, resourcing, contract administration, variation orders and claim assessments.
• Assign, coordinate and supervise work for engineers, technicians and sub‑consultants, providing mentoring to junior staff.
• Communicate with clients, present technical work, and contribute to bids and proposals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of Namibia.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in a consulting role after registration.
• Strong understanding of project management, commercial and contractual principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Experience with CAD software for engineering design and documentation.
• Intermediate working knowledge of BIM principles and workflows.
