Procurement and Contracts Manager

About the role

The Procurement Manager leads the Contract and Procurement (CP) function in the country and is responsible for the timely provision of goods and services required by the business. The role delivers the targets and value agreed with the business, in line with the Country Business plan, and works as a true partner to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Category management: conduct supply market analysis, benchmark costs and processes, identify new sources and evaluate suppliers, develop tender documentation and analyse bids
• Negotiate with potential bidders, run reverse auctions or online bidding when applicable, and maintain procurement records and compliance with policies and audit trails
• Supplier management: track supplier performance, manage key contractor relationships and work with suppliers on cost reduction and process improvement
• Business partnering: build working relationships with internal teams and suppliers, guide partners on spend, cost savings and vendor rationalization
• Contract management: implement global contracts, support contract holders through initiation to close-out, and escalate non-compliance early

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, business administration, commerce or a related field
• Professional procurement qualification (CIPS, CPSM, MCIPS or equivalent) is an added advantage
• Minimum 8-10 years of procurement and supply chain experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management role
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier performance management and high-value procurement projects
• Experience in mining, manufacturing, energy, logistics or industrial environments is advantageous

Required skills

• Strategic sourcing, vendor management, category management and tendering processes
• Knowledge of ERP and procurement systems such as SAP and Microsoft Dynamics
• Understanding of budgeting, cost control, financial analysis and market intelligence
