Loader Operator (Stemming Loader)

About the role

The Loader Operator is responsible for safely operating a stemming loader to perform stemming operations in a mining environment. The role ensures that stemming tasks are completed on time while maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the stemming loader according to company operating instructions and safety standards.
• Complete stemming operations within scheduled timeframes.
• Perform loader housekeeping and routine front‑line maintenance such as greasing and weekly checks.
• Conduct pre‑start checks, report faults, and assist the maintenance team during breakdowns.
• Assess on‑bench conditions before stemming and adhere to the customer’s traffic‑management plan.
• Implement and comply with Safety, Health, Environment, Quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education.
• Valid Stemming Loader Operator License (Code 10).
• At least 1 year of stemming loader operating experience; open‑pit experience is an advantage.
• Experience as a blasting assistant or general assistant is a plus.
• Numerical aptitude, attention to detail, strong communication and report‑writing abilities.
