Finance Head – Group Financial Reporting Leader

About the role

The Finance Head will lead the central finance team across the FirstRand Namibia Group, driving best‑practice financial reporting, governance and continuous improvement. This senior role combines strategic input on group finance strategy with hands‑on oversight of day‑to‑day reporting deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead year‑end and interim financial reporting, including the integrated annual report, results announcements and investor‑facing information.
• Own preparation, technical review and quality assurance of financial statements for the Group, Bank and subsidiaries, ensuring IFRS, listing and regulatory compliance.
• Manage Basel III, prudential and other regulatory reporting, maintaining robust governance and submission calendars.
• Oversee monthly HFM reporting, half‑year and year‑end Group reporting packs, and tax compliance across the Group.
• Lead external audit processes, coordinate responses and ensure timely resolution of audit matters.
• Maintain a strong financial reporting control environment and anticipate changes in IFRS, Basel, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement through process simplification, standardisation, data‑flow enhancements and automation.
• Provide the CFO with clear analysis of financial performance, emerging risks and matters requiring executive attention.
• Develop and lead a high‑performing finance team with clear accountability and succession depth.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification; postgraduate finance or business qualification is advantageous.
• 8‑10 years of progressively responsible finance experience, including senior leadership.
• Proven experience leading finance professionals or specialist teams.
• Strong background in financial reporting, planning, governance and regulated environments.
