About the role
Old Mutual is seeking a Corporate Underwriter to review risk submissions, underwrite insurance requests and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and reinsurance governance.
Key responsibilities
- Review risk submissions from clients, agents and referrals and make underwriting decisions within authority limits.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, reinsurance is placed when needed and monthly corporate risk reports are submitted.
- Maintain high‑quality service by handling renewals, new business and endorsements in a timely manner.
- Resolve escalated customer queries and support business development centres in acquiring profitable business.
Required profile
- Minimum NQF Level 7 tertiary qualification.
- 3‑5 years underwriting experience with strong analytical and decision‑making abilities.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, energetic and aligned with OMSIC values.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
