Executive – Credit and Market Risk

About the role

The Executive will lead managers in identifying and managing high‑risk credit portfolios, minimizing losses and supporting business growth within the bank’s Treasury environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure sound lending aligned with the bank’s business plans and monitor market trends.
• Assess loan applications within the delegated mandate and allocate resources for past‑due and non‑performing collections.
• Oversee accounting impairments, regulatory reporting for loans and advances, and credit/market risk management in the Treasury Middle Office.
• Chair the Bank Credit Committee weekly and act as Deputy Chair of the Credit Risk and Monitoring Committee monthly.
• Provide strategic reporting to the Executive Committee, Asset and Liability Committee, Board sub‑committees and regulators.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years senior management experience in banking with strong exposure to credit and/or market risk.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification (MBA, CA, CFA, FRM or equivalent) and professional risk/finance certifications.
• Deep knowledge of Basel III, credit risk, market risk, capital and liquidity management, and Namibian banking regulations.
• Proven ability to develop risk strategy, governance frameworks and engage with executive management and regulators.
