Diesel Mechanic – Maintenance Team

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on our diesel‑powered fleet and equipment while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Use computerized diagnostic equipment and engine analyzers to identify mechanical and electrical faults in engines, transmissions, and braking systems.
• Perform complex repairs such as engine overhauls, fuel‑injection adjustments, turbocharger, piston, and cooling‑system replacements.
• Execute routine preventative‑maintenance tasks including oil changes, fluid flushes, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
• Inspect and service hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, exhaust, and emissions‑control systems.
• Maintain precise digital service records, work logs, and parts inventory using shop‑management software.
• Conduct federal and state‑mandated safety inspections and emissions testing to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Operate heavy‑duty vehicles on test drives to verify repairs and diagnose performance issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; completion of a Diesel Technology program or vocational degree is highly preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience working on medium to heavy‑duty diesel engines.
• ASE Diesel Certifications (e.g., T‑series) are a significant plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lb, stand for long periods, and work in confined or awkward positions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite and CAT ET.
• Use of pneumatic wrenches and other manual tools.
• Operation of multimeters for electrical testing.
• Welding equipment for component repairs.
