Liquidity and Funding Manager – Treasury

About the role

The Liquidity and Funding Manager will lead the design, implementation and ongoing oversight of the bank’s liquidity and funding strategy. Reporting to the Head of Treasury, the role ensures that sufficient funding and liquidity are maintained across normal and stressed market conditions while supporting the bank’s broader business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain liquidity risk frameworks and monitor cash‑flow positions.
• Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis in collaboration with the Business Service Management team.
• Structure, originate, implement and monitor funding solutions and related deals.
• Prepare and deliver pitch presentations, compile quotes and support transaction management with Finance and other stakeholders.
• Cross‑sell other Nedbank products by staying informed on the bank’s offerings, costs and compliance requirements.
• Execute transactions in line with risk standards, modelling, research and legal agreement execution.
• Maintain and run risk and pricing models to ensure regulatory compliance (LCR, NSFR, ILAAP, Basel III).
• Build and sustain professional relationships with internal and external clients.
• Drive non‑wholesale client streams and contribute to cultural and corporate responsibility initiatives.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and share industry knowledge with the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in liquidity risk management and treasury funding.
• Strong understanding of Basel III, LCR, NSFR and ILAAP regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to develop risk frameworks, conduct stress testing and perform scenario analysis.
• Excellent analytical, modelling and presentation skills.
• Capability to work collaboratively across Finance, Transaction Management and other stakeholders.
