Assistant Manager / Manager – Tax Services

About the role

The Tax Business Unit of Deloitte is seeking a qualified Namibian professional to join as an Assistant Manager or Manager in Tax. You will deliver tax advisory services to clients, stay current with legislation, and help implement tax strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and present complex tax issues, results and recommendations to project teams and clients.
• Assist clients in completing timely and accurate tax and financial filings.
• Interpret applicable tax accounting standards and advise on compliance.
• Plan audit procedures, identify risks and develop appropriate audit responses.
• Design and implement tax strategies aligned with client strategic goals.
• Grow the client base and cross‑sell Deloitte services.
• Maintain extensive liaison with Ministry of Finance, Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise.
• Manage and develop team members and contribute to office functions.

Required profile

• BComm (Acc) or BComm (LLB) or equivalent degree; Chartered Accountant designation advantageous.
• Minimum 4 years of tax experience in a professional services firm.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Taxation (MCom) preferred.
• Strong understanding of Namibian tax legislation, including Income Tax, VAT and Custom Excise Acts.
• Excellent communication, analytical and leadership capabilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Namibian Tax Law, Income Tax Act and VAT Acts.
• Understanding of the Custom Excise Act.
• Experience with Voluntary Disclosure Program (advantageous).
