Assistant Audit Manager – Full-time, On-site in Windhoek

About the role

The Assistant Audit Manager will join Vital Assurance’s audit team in Windhoek on a full‑time, on‑site basis. The role involves planning and executing financial audit engagements, supervising junior staff, and ensuring audit deliverables meet quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and finalize financial audit engagements, including testing controls and reviewing financial statements.
• Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, monitor engagement progress and manage timelines.
• Analyse financial data to identify risks, irregularities and audit findings.
• Prepare audit documentation, reports and client communication of results and recommendations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and support the Audit Manager in workload and client relationship management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification (CA, CPA or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Proven experience in external audit or assurance, preferably in a supervisory or senior capacity.
• Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to identify risks and trends in financial data.
• Effective communication, organization and time‑management skills, able to work accurately under deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit and accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
