About the role
The Lead – Record to Report will oversee the NBL Group’s financial accounting and reporting function, ensuring accurate monthly, interim and annual statements in line with IFRS and regulatory requirements. The role also manages relationships with key stakeholders such as the Namibia Stock Exchange, auditors and Heineken Global.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the end‑to‑end financial reporting process, delivering timely and accurate monthly, interim and annual statements.
- Own and coordinate group financial consolidations across all entities, guaranteeing completeness, accuracy and consistency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the Namibia Stock Exchange, auditors, regulatory bodies and other key stakeholders.
- Provide timely reporting to Heineken Global and other relevant parties, ensuring alignment with reporting requirements.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities, optimise processes and drive a culture of financial efficiency.
- Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives within the Record‑to‑Report function, applying lean accounting practices.
- Evaluate and manage the group’s tax position, ensuring compliance and seeking optimisation opportunities.
- Coordinate the preparation of the Integrated Annual Report, covering both financial and non‑financial performance indicators.
- Develop, maintain and communicate accounting policies, technical positions and reporting guidance.
- Ensure efficient intercompany reporting and reconciliation, resolving balances promptly.
Required profile
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience; post‑articles experience considered advantageous.
- Proven experience in financial consolidations and preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Sound knowledge of taxation, including preparation of tax computations and submission of returns.
- Experience resolving intercompany accounting matters across multiple entities.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
