Heavy Vehicle Driver (9‑16 ton) – Swakopmund

About the role

The company is seeking a reliable driver to operate vehicles with a capacity of 9 000 kg to 16 000 kg, delivering goods to stores and clients in Swakopmund and surrounding areas. The role focuses on safe, prompt and efficient delivery while maintaining vehicle condition and customer satisfaction. The driver will also be responsible for reducing vehicle operating costs and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver goods to designated locations without breakages or shortages.
• Ensure the vehicle is neatly packed and loaded according to safety standards.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects.
• Supervise and assist with loading and unloading of cargo.
• Maintain accurate delivery notes, authorisations and collect COD monies.
• Supply correct quantities, manage vehicle costs and report on fuel usage.
• Provide courteous customer service and uphold company values.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic upkeep.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education.
• Valid Code 10 (Heavy Vehicle) or Code 8 (Light Vehicle) driver’s licence.
• Minimum two years of relevant driving experience.
• Ability to perform daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
