Finance Manager (Head Office, Windhoek)

About the role

The Finance Manager will enforce standardisation and corporate governance within the finance department, planning, managing, improving and controlling the financial accounting environment. The role also involves guiding colleagues and supporting the Head of Finance & IT to ensure legal accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage finance division operations to achieve departmental goals and ensure compliance with internal and external procedures.
• Implement and maintain policies such as Fraud Prevention, Disaster Recovery, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Investment policies.
• Develop internal controls, segregation of duties, cash handling and oversee audit processes with the Auditor General and external auditors.
• Assist in investment activities, maintain banking relationships, and ensure sufficient funds for operational and capital needs.
• Control and monitor budgets across divisions, analyse patterns, and provide solutions for over‑expenditures.
• Compile financial statements, conduct financial analysis, and support cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Manage levy income processes and ensure compliance with related regulations.
• Oversee payments of accounts payable in line with the Namibian Procurement Act and NTB Procurement Policy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (NQF 7); Honours degree (NQF 8) is an advantage.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in finance and administration at a supervisory or middle‑management level.
• Knowledge of Accounting Principles, VAT Act, Income Tax Act, Labour Act and NTB Act.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, leadership and team‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail, organizational skills and effective communication.
