Assistant Audit Manager

About the role

Vital Assurance is seeking an Assistant Audit Manager to lead and execute statutory audit engagements for public and private sector clients across Namibia. Reporting to the Senior Audit Manager, you will combine technical audit execution with people leadership and client‑facing responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, lead and complete end‑to‑end statutory audit engagements in accordance with ISAs.
• Conduct risk assessments, design audit programmes, review working papers and finalise annual financial statements.
• Supervise and develop audit staff, including clerks and senior clerks on multiple concurrent engagements.
• Serve as primary contact for client management, managing expectations, resolving queries and communicating findings.
• Drive engagement quality, timeliness and profitability while supporting firm‑wide quality, training and business development initiatives.
• Enroll in and complete the 18‑month Registered Accountant & Auditor (RA&A) training programme.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent (e.g., BCom Accounting, BAccountancy, BCompt).
• Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) or Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences (PGDA).
• Successful completion of the Initial Test of Competence (ITC) and Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) of SAICA/ICAN.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) designation – CA(NAM) and/or CA(SA).
• Active registration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN) and compliance with CPD requirements.
