Commercial Claims Negotiator – Insurance

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking a Commercial Claims Negotiator to manage the end‑to‑end settlement of commercial, agricultural, tourism and hospitality insurance claims in Namibia. You will interpret policy wordings, negotiate settlements and ensure high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret commercial and specialty policy wordings and assess claim validity.
• Manage registration, processing, assessor appointment and settlement of claims.
• Achieve daily registration targets while following standardised procedures.
• Collaborate with loss adjusters, attorneys and subject‑matter experts as needed.
• Perform quality checks, adhere to SOPs and maintain cost control.
• Handle low to moderate value claims, initiate investigations and assign adjusters.

Required profile

• Namibian citizen with NQF Level 7 tertiary qualification.
• 2‑3 years experience in short‑term insurance claims handling.
• Detail‑oriented, strong numerical ability and computer literacy.
• Excellent customer service, problem‑solving and communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
• High energy, able to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
