Senior Forex Dealer (D3) - Treasury

About the role

Nedbank is recruiting a Senior Forex Dealer (D3) in its Treasury function, reporting to the Head of Treasury. The role generates profit from foreign exchange (FX) turnover received from the FX sales desk and high-volume clients, while managing the liquidity and funding that supports the FX sales desk.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse FX markets to identify trends and opportunities, and advise clients on Global Market products in line with their needs
• Advise clients on Treasury products and regulatory and compliance requirements such as AML and Exchange Control
• Cross-sell Global Market and Global Trade products and assist relationship managers in building the client portfolio
• Keep corporate clients informed about market conditions and help them find solutions to their business needs
• Manage the bank's FX exposure limits by clearing excess or short positions on the interbank market
• Generate revenue from dealing, funding and trading activities within the defined portfolio
• Manage operating risks, comply with internal controls and regulatory requirements, and report operational incidents
• Cooperate with back and middle office on daily position reconciliation and settlement, and contribute to FX sales strategy
• Mentor the funding and liquidity team, complete personal development plans and share knowledge with colleagues

Required profile

• 8-10 years' experience in money markets within a dealing room, including interest rate hedging, derivatives and fixed income
• Proven experience in a Global Markets environment with exposure to FX, interest rate products, derivatives, commodities and related instruments
• Understanding of credit, market/trading and operational risk management
• Preferred: B.Com degree or equivalent, FSB RE 1 or ACI Dealing certificate, and valid police clearance
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of change management, communication strategies, data analysis, industry trends and project management principles
