Strategy Analyst - Commercial

About the role

FNB is looking for a Strategy Analyst to support the development, execution and communication of Commercial's strategy. The role produces decision-useful reporting, monitors strategic performance and generates forward-looking insights on the forces shaping growth, competitiveness and customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Translate FNB Commercial's vision into clear, measurable priorities, outcomes and performance indicators for Commercial Exco.
• Develop concise executive, board and governance reporting covering performance, insights, risks and required decisions.
• Maintain an integrated strategy scorecard tracking initiatives, benefits, dependencies, risks and corrective actions.
• Conduct market, competitor, customer and industry research, and monitor economic, technological, regulatory and behavioural trends.
• Develop insights and recommendations on customer segments, propositions, channels, partnerships and new growth opportunities.
• Support scenario planning, business cases and strategic option assessments; facilitate strategy reviews and planning sessions.
• Manage selected strategic and transformation initiatives from inception through implementation and evaluation.
• Prepare internal board and executive reporting and external reporting submissions, and analyse market conduct information with key stakeholders.
• Cultivate a collaborative network across business segments and build a service culture focused on client service.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
• 2-3 years' experience in Strategy, Consulting or Business Development.
• Experience managing stakeholders at executive (C-Suite) level and project management experience.
• Strong stakeholder management, structured problem-solving, analytical thinking and scenario analysis.

Required skills

• Executive-level writing and presentations, and the ability to turn complex data into a clear commercial narrative.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and BI/AI tools.
