Quality Control Inspector

About the role

The Quality Control Inspector will inspect and monitor welding, mechanical installations, and structural works to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements on site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, review quality documentation, identify defects and ensure work meets industry codes and client standards.
• Provide QC input to proposals, review and comment on quality plans and ITPs, and liaise with clients and inspection authorities.
• Carry out supplier inspections, complete inspection reports, and develop a lesson‑learned feedback system.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years QC experience, at least 5 years in the petrochemical industry.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 requirements and Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, PER and SANS 347.
• Qualified as an “IPE” Inspector of Pressurized Equipment by SAQCC.

Required skills

• ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Pressurized equipment inspection (IPE certification).
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act, PER and SANS 347.
