Personal Lines Underwriter

About the role

The Personal Lines Underwriter will support the underwriting team by handling clerical and administrative tasks while ensuring accurate processing of insurance documentation. This role focuses on maintaining high service standards, retaining profitable business, and delivering timely renewals for personal insurance products.

Key responsibilities

• Retain profitable personal lines business through effective client interaction.
• Process, check, and authorise all underwriting documentation before dispatch.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures and quality standards.
• Resolve escalated customer queries and complaints, providing clear feedback.
• Ensure timely completion of policy renewals and related administrative tasks.

Required profile

• NQF Level 7 tertiary qualification (degree, advanced diploma or postgraduate certificate).
• 1‑2 years of experience in the insurance industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• Client‑oriented with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work energetically and embrace company values.
