Pay Office Consultant (OMAO)

About the role

The Pay Office Consultant (OMAO) is responsible for premium collection, affordability checks, and system support for a financial institution operating in South Africa. The role ensures smooth processing of stop orders, manages premium payments from companies and pay offices, and provides training to branch managers.

Key responsibilities

• Collect monthly premiums from companies and pay offices, including bulk payments and schedule management.
• Verify stop orders are approved before processing new business, ensuring compliance with government affordability rules.
• Conduct affordability checks with pay offices and train branch managers on performing these checks.
• Allocate payments to the third‑party (Hyphen) using Point of Purchase (POP) systems, ensuring accurate policy allocations.
• Support business activities such as pay‑office visits, sales and training, and assist with system refreshes.
• Assist in opening new pay offices and loading new codes onto the system.
• Respond to basic issue escalations, provide managerial approvals, and resolve payment‑related queries.

Required profile

• Namibian citizenship.
• Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 25 points.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or a related field.

Required skills

• Ability to perform affordability checks and verify employment.
• Knowledge of government affordability rules and stop order procedures.
• Proficiency in using banking allocation systems and point‑of‑purchase tools.
