Operations Manager – COO Support

About the role

The Operations Manager will support the Chief Operating Officer in overseeing day‑to‑day activities for the J&J Africa Group in Namibia. The role ensures smooth coordination with clients, suppliers and internal teams while maintaining high standards of data quality, compliance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain data quality in operational systems and deliver accurate operational and financial reports.
• Own and continuously improve all operational procedures in Namibia.
• Represent the J&J Group locally, visiting clients and suppliers under the COO’s guidance.
• Conduct regular operational audits, produce month‑end and quarterly compliance reports.
• Manage performance of operations staff and drivers, optimizing utilization.
• Assist in commercial and contractual negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, HR policies and internal procedures.
• Promote health, safety and environmental standards, enforcing HSE manuals and guidelines.
• Develop and lead a cohesive team to execute daily activities safely, efficiently and cost‑effectively.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transport or a related field, or a relevant diploma.
• 5‑8 years of management experience in transport or logistics.
• Eligibility to work in Namibia.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
