Assistant Driver

About the role

The Assistant Driver will operate WUTOW's fleet of trucks, handling loading and off‑loading of products to clients while ensuring timely, safe, and uninterrupted deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver cargo to client premises in Windhoek and surrounding areas.
• Check cargo before departure and oversee off‑loading at client sites.
• Interact regularly with clients and customers.
• Assist with loading and unloading of trucks.
• Follow company safe‑driving policies and traffic rules.
• Manage fuel economy through efficient driving techniques.
• Handle return loads according to company procedures.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks (tyre pressure, brakes, lights, etc.).
• Maintain truck cleanliness and report any defects promptly.
• Care for company equipment such as pallet jacks and ensure proper return of CHEP pallets.
• Uphold a professional image and adhere to health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum three years experience as a driver or assistant driver.
• Valid C1 driver’s licence.
