Head of Procurement, Facilities & Securities

About the role

The Head of Procurement, Facilities & Securities will lead the transformation of Nedbank Group's procurement function, aligning it with the bank’s overall strategy and national transformation imperatives. This senior position is responsible for driving supplier development, risk management, and strategic partnerships across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for procurement transformation in line with Nedbank Group strategy and national imperatives.
• Leverage Enterprise Supplier Development (ESD) strategies to support profitability and B‑BBEE supplier growth.
• Coordinate product mix and servicing support for ESD and SME suppliers to enhance bank profitability.
• Identify and showcase transformation innovation and market opportunities for transformed suppliers.
• Increase spend with SME suppliers in accordance with Nedbank strategy.
• Manage procurement risk to minimise negative impacts and impairments.
• Build trust‑based relationships with executives, senior management and suppliers, monitoring transformation progress internally and externally.
• Collaborate with Group Finance and Business Services to achieve procurement objectives.
• Facilitate conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Represent Nedbank on industry committees and promote common transformation approaches across the financial sector.

Required profile

• Proven ability to set and execute procurement transformation strategies.
• Experience in supplier development, especially with B‑BBEE and SME suppliers.
• Strong risk‑management expertise within procurement activities.
• Demonstrated skill in building and maintaining executive‑level relationships.
• Capability to manage stakeholder expectations and drive strategic partnerships.
• Track record of influencing market access growth for transformed suppliers.
• Ability to collaborate across finance, business services and external organisations.
