GSA Cleaner

About the role

City Lodge Hotels is hiring a GSA Cleaner for its Town Lodge in Windhoek. The role covers guest rooms, public areas, the kitchen and laundry, and may also include guest service duties in the restaurant and bar. Its overall purpose is to make every guest a returning and referring guest.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of guest rooms, public areas, kitchen and laundry, and deliver the highest level of cleanliness, presentation and service to guests.
• Follow all disaster management, health and safety requirements and hotel policies on cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
• Use, pack and store operating equipment correctly, and perform tasks to the required standard in line with the daily schedule and focus areas.
• Control costs and keep wastage to a minimum.
• Contribute ideas that could improve the group's product offering, service delivery, productivity and efficiency.
• Take part in legislative and operational training and build good working relationships with colleagues.
• Carry out other duties requested by senior management, and handle money and company funds, which means a fraud and credit check.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10-12 education; experience is not essential as on-the-job training is provided.
• Prior experience in a similar position is advantageous.
• Ability to work long hours and shifts, and to stand, bend, lift and carry objects for extended periods.
• Subject to a fraud and credit check because the job involves handling money.
