Financial Management Accountant

About the role

An established commodities export business in Walvis Bay is seeking a proactive Financial Management Accountant to own the full accounting function and work closely with the Executive Committee on strategic financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end accounting process from source documentation to monthly management accounts.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support strategic decision‑making.
• Oversee cash‑flow forecasting, working‑capital management and cross‑border/foreign‑currency transactions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and financial reporting requirements.
• Reconcile bank accounts, creditors, debtors, inventory and general‑ledger balances.
• Assist with year‑end financial statements and external audits.
• Develop and maintain financial controls and identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Produce management dashboards, KPIs and partner with operational teams for cost analysis.

Required profile

• Namibian citizen or permanent resident.
• Relevant professional qualification (CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Financial or Management Accountant, preferably managing the full accounting function.
• Experience in commodities, manufacturing, agricultural, mining, export or logistics sectors is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of cross‑border payments, foreign‑exchange and international trade.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans with excellent written and verbal communication.
• High attention to detail, proactive, self‑motivated and able to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Proficiency with Pastel Accounting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong financial analysis and report‑writing abilities.
