Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will manage daily financial operations, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, timely payroll processing, and strict regulatory compliance for UMS. This role combines transactional ledger management with credit control and cash‑flow oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily data entry for cash books, general ledgers, accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconcile corporate bank transactions and credit accounts against the ERP system each day.
• Audit aging customer accounts, initiate professional debt‑recovery actions, and structure payment plans.
• Process vendor invoices, match them with purchase orders, and run scheduled supplier payments.
• Calculate monthly payroll, including overtime, commissions, bonuses and statutory deductions; file income‑tax and VAT returns.
• Prepare monthly profit & loss statements, balance sheets and departmental cost‑variance reports for senior leadership.
• Gather and organise ledger records to support external auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or active pursuit of ACCA/CPA qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of corporate bookkeeping, payroll management and credit control experience.
• Demonstrated accuracy, integrity and strong organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with enterprise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or Xero.
• Advanced Excel modelling and data analysis.
• Experience using an ERP system for transaction reconciliation.
