Enrolled Nurse – Relief Work

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking an Enrolled Nurse for relief work to provide safe, quality nursing care across its facilities. This role supports the multidisciplinary team in delivering patient‑centred services and ensures continuity of care during staffing gaps.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Enrolled Nurse Certificate (essential).
• For specialised wards, completion of CPD courses in the relevant speciality (desired).
• No prior experience required; 1 year post‑qualification experience is desired for specialised units.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support training.
• Infection prevention and control knowledge.
• Pharmacology understanding.
• Scientific nursing principles and processes.
• Patient assessment skills.
• Nursing processes and procedures.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Familiarity with relevant nursing legislation.
• Nursing care plan development.
• Risk identification abilities.
