Registered Nurse - Relief

About the role

Mediclinic Windhoek is seeking a Relief Registered Nurse to deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care in line with the Scope of Practice. The role involves working on‑site within a multi‑professional team to ensure patient safety and a positive experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (essential).
• Post‑graduate certificate/diploma in Midwifery or relevant speciality (desired).
• No minimum experience required (essential).
• 1 year post‑graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit (desired).

Required skills

• Infection prevention and control.
• Pharmacology.
• Scientific nursing principles and processes.
• Nursing record keeping.
• Patient assessment skills.
• Computer literate – Microsoft Office.
• Develop/modify a nursing care plan.
• Relevant nursing legislation.
• Basic life support training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS).
• Risk identification.
• Nursing processes and procedures.
