Depot Operations Support (6-Month Contract)

About the role

TotalEnergies Marketing Namibia is looking for a depot operations support person in Walvis Bay to manage the dry depot operations safely and cost-effectively. The role covers stock control, issuing and distribution, maintenance, budget and administration, and includes managing a single reportee. It is advertised as a 6-month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Manage depot activities so that products received, handled and issued are done safely and efficiently.
• Control depot stock to keep levels at set targets, reconcile stock daily, keep quality control and minimise stock losses.
• Manage issuing and distribution of products to meet service levels and transport KPIs, keeping delivery gains and losses within accepted norms.
• Run the depot maintenance programme at minimum cost to protect assets and avoid downtime.
• Manage the reportee through coaching and mentoring, and manage operation expenditure through budget monitoring.
• Keep depot administration within company guidelines and report consolidated results and corrective actions monthly.
• Recommend improvements to the Operations Manager/Managing Director and handle operational crises using contingency plans.
• Resolve customer queries quickly and train operations and management trainees through on-the-job training and rotation.
• Ensure HSEQ compliance, especially transport HSSE, and promote safe working conditions.
• Manage risks and internal controls, including asset management, in line with industry legislation.

Required profile

• Suitable tertiary qualification (the text states 3 years).
• At least 5 years of experience in petrochemical production, warehousing or an industrial environment.
