Store Officer

About the role

A main market LSE-listed company providing drilling and mining services is looking for an experienced Store Officer to join its operations in Windhoek, Namibia. The role oversees the daily running of site stores and warehouse, keeping inventory accurate and materials available for drilling and mining work.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the daily receipt, inspection, storage and issuance of goods, materials and equipment
• Maintain accurate inventory records, stock registers and fuel issue records
• Run regular stock counts, reconcile them and investigate discrepancies
• Ensure all stock movements are authorised, recorded and documented
• Monitor stock levels and work with Procurement to replenish critical supplies
• Prepare daily inventory reports, Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and other required documents
• Guide stores personnel and liaise with Operations, Maintenance and Logistics teams
• Keep the warehouse clean, organised and safe according to HSE standards, and support inventory audits

Required profile

• Minimum secondary school certificate or equivalent; a diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehousing or a related field is preferred
• At least 3 years of stores or warehouse experience, including supervisory duties
• Experience in mining, drilling, construction or heavy equipment is an advantage
• Willingness to work at remote project sites and on rotational rosters

• Inventory management, stock control, receiving and dispatch procedures
• Microsoft Excel and Word
• Computerised inventory management systems
• Good knowledge of drilling equipment, mechanical spare parts and industrial materials is desirable
