Clerk: Warehouse & Transport Operations

About the role

Atlantic Commercial Cold Store is looking for a clerk to carry out administrative and clerical duties, ensuring accurate and timely processing of data on operational management systems, record keeping and document control in line with approved procedures and work objectives. The role also provides operational support when needed, including helping Operations Assistants maintain continuity of operations and supporting a fair weekend-duty rotation.

Key responsibilities

• General office administration and day-to-day office administration
• Manage, organise and maintain physical and digital records such as job cards and HACCP documentation, keeping files accurate, up to date and accessible
• Scan, file and enter data, including reconciliations
• Handle claims processes and documentation
• Carry out general filing duties and ad hoc tasks for the group of companies
• Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement
• Work weekends, overtime, public holidays and outside normal hours when operational needs require it, on a rotational basis with Operations Assistants so they can take scheduled weekends off
• Provide relief and practical support during busy periods or staff shortages while keeping administrative duties

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate (minimum)
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and public holidays when required
• Highly developed organisational skills, attention to detail and maturity to handle a range of situations
• Loyalty, confidentiality and a team spirit
• Able to work independently and in a team
