Accountant – Head Office (Windhoek)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Head Office in Windhoek. The role supports the Finance Manager in preparing monthly management accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with audits and budgeting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bank reconciliations and oversee petty cash for head office and branches.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, withholding tax returns, and support VAT audits.
• Maintain project groups, fixed‑asset register, and supplier accounts in Business Central.
• Assist with invoicing, month‑end journal entries, and ad‑hoc invoicing tasks.
• Conduct creditor and debtor reconciliations, credit note processing, and monthly balance‑sheet reviews.
• Ensure internal accounting controls are followed and maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in services or manufacturing.
• Highly detail‑oriented, able to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑service focus.
• Analytical mindset with solid problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (or similar ERP) is advantageous.
