About the role

Express Services Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated Ship Agent to join its maritime team in Walvis Bay. The role involves coordinating vessel calls, handling port formalities, and ensuring smooth communication between ship owners, captains, charterers, and port authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit all required documentation for vessel arrivals and departures.
• Arrange pilotage, towage, and other port services.
• Track vessel movements and monitor compliance with local regulations.
• Liaise with port authorities, terminals, and service providers to secure berthing and cargo handling.
• Support customs clearing and forwarding processes, including documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Resolve operational issues promptly and maintain accurate records and reports.

Required profile

• Experience in ship agency, port operations, or maritime logistics.
• Knowledge of customs clearing and forwarding procedures.
• Strong administrative and organisational abilities, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with captains, crew, clients, and officials.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Walvis Bay and adapt to irregular schedules.
• Valid driver’s licence.
