Pre Legal Team Leader (Retail Collections)

About the role

The Pre Legal Team Leader will oversee the pre‑legal collections function within the retail division, ensuring high‑quality work, effective credit risk management and a reduction in the debtor book. You will lead a team of collectors, drive performance, and support the bank’s commitment to ethical and transparent practices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage allocation and quality of work in the pre‑legal area, monitoring credit exposure and risk.
• Lead a high‑performance team of collectors, focusing on special arrangements and debt assistance.
• Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders to improve performance.
• Participate in change‑management initiatives for the department.
• Ensure compliance with debt recovery regulations and banking policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Law or a related business field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in credit and collections, preferably in early‑stage collections.
• Strong leadership qualities, emotional intelligence and excellent verbal communication.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, curiosity, inclusivity and accountability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
