Portfolio Manager – Investment Management

About the role

The Portfolio Manager will formulate, monitor and implement investment policies for assigned portfolios, ensuring alignment with client goals and constraints. This senior position requires strategic decision‑making on buying and selling investments across multiple asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct investment research and monitor security market developments.
• Make and implement investment decisions, managing the full portfolio lifecycle.
• Buy and sell investment assets, liaising with tax attorneys or accountants on legal implications.
• Develop investment and economic strategies based on management philosophy and client objectives.
• Formulate, revise and implement investment plans covering fixed income, equity, property and foreign exchange.
• Analyse market opportunities and collaborate with external consultants to create new product features.
• Lead and motivate analysts, directing research to support portfolio decisions.
• Balance personal priorities with team leadership responsibilities.

Required profile

• Namibian citizen.
• NQF Level 8 degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Statistics.
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Accountant qualification.
• 5‑8 years of investment‑management experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory/portfolio‑manager role.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding business targets.
• Strong decision‑making, communication and presentation abilities.
• Highly motivated, self‑starter, well‑organized and able to work independently.
