Partnerships Officer

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordination Office in Windhoek is seeking a Partnerships Officer to support strategic partnership development for the Sustainable Development Goals. Reporting to the Senior Development Coordination Officer, Strategic Planning and Head of RCO, the role provides substantive advice to the Resident Coordinator and UN Country Team on non‑monetary partnerships with civil society, the private sector and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of the UN Partnership Strategy aligned with the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
• Support a UNCT working group or similar platform to monitor, assess and adjust the partnership strategy as new opportunities arise.
• Coordinate liaison activities with UN entities at country, regional and headquarters levels to create value propositions for local partnerships.
• Provide strategic advice on joint initiatives and advocacy efforts that advance the 2030 Agenda.

Required profile

• Experience in strategic partnership development within an international or development context.
• Familiarity with UN development coordination mechanisms and the Sustainable Development Goals.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including civil society and the private sector.
