Merchandiser – Retail FMCG (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Merchandiser ensures that the right amount of goods is available in store, sold at the right price, and presented to stimulate customer interest. Working closely with Sales Representatives, the role drives daily execution of sales objectives, planograms, and forward‑share targets in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily in‑store merchandising against agreed sales objectives, promotions, and forward‑share targets (displays, gondolas, forward share).
• Arrange product displays to attract customers and encourage purchases.
• Perform catalogue stock counts to support quick order generation.
• Follow up and control EDI order execution.
• Merchandise to planogram and rotate stock following FIFO principles.
• Prepare claims for timely weekly processing in line with returns policy.
• Support stock receipt, off‑loading, and verify delivery against orders, including shelf‑life checks.
• Build partnerships with customers to achieve planned volume sales budgets.
• Control promotional assets and equipment in store.
• Adhere to company policies, SOPs, health, safety, and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Grade 10 qualification.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in merchandising or field sales within the FMCG sector.
