About the role

The University of Namibia seeks a Food Science Technologist to join its Katima Mulilo Campus. In this full‑time position you will lead the creation of innovative food products from local fruits and vegetables and help adapt existing offerings for commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new food products from indigenous fruits and vegetables.
• Adapt existing products to achieve commercial viability.
• Provide routine and specialised technical support to the Food Science and Technology department.
• Collaborate with university staff across related disciplines on research and development projects.
• Perform administrative duties related to product development activities.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Food Science and Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum two years of experience as a technologist in a food‑science environment.
• Strong understanding of new product development processes.
• Familiarity with operating food processing equipment.
