Machine Operator – Laboratory & Industrial Testing

About the role

ALS is seeking a full‑time Machine Operator to work on‑site in Otjiwarongo. The role focuses on operating and monitoring laboratory and industrial testing equipment, ensuring tests are performed accurately and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Set up machines according to standard operating procedures.
• Run tests, record measurements, and document results.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions.
• Follow safety and quality standards at all times.
• Collaborate with supervisors and technicians to meet production and testing schedules.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Required profile

• Ability to operate, monitor, and perform basic maintenance on industrial or laboratory machinery.
• Strong attention to detail when recording data and documenting test results.
• Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and read technical documentation.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to work on‑site, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and use of laboratory or production software.
• Prior experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or industrial environment is beneficial.
• Relevant technical or vocational training in machinery operation, laboratory technology, or a related field is an advantage.
