Laboratory Analyst

About the role

The Laboratory Analyst will join ALS’s Kombat site in Namibia, performing accurate and timely geochemical analyses to support scientific testing and data‑driven insights for a healthier future.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct analytical tests using methods such as AAS, ICP‑OES, XRF, or other techniques.
• Prepare samples for analysis according to standard operating procedures.
• Record, interpret, and report results accurately.
• Follow QA/QC protocols and ISO 17025 requirements.
• Maintain laboratory instruments and report any malfunctions.
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols at all times.

Required profile

• Diploma or BSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience in laboratory analysis, preferably in geochemistry.
• Commitment to ALS Health and Safety Foundation Standards and local legislative requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AAS, ICP‑OES, and XRF instrumentation.
• Sample preparation expertise.
• Understanding of QA/QC standards and ISO 17025.
• Ability to use a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety and chemical handling.
